Meet Charlie!

Hi, I’m Charlie, a perfect 9 month old Bichon Cross looking for a new home. I came to the centre as an excitable little puppy that my owner could no longer care for and being so young I struggled to settle here in the kennels, so one of the team here at NAWT Fostered me to help continue in my training.

I am so incredibly loving and friendly and I light up the room with my smiley little face. I am still only young and have so much still to learn. I am a little nervous at times, with loud noises or quick movements so may need help building confidence. Because of my sensitive demeanour a home with young children would not suit me as I find them quite overwhelming when on my walks so I think it is best that I live with teenagers and adults only, as it is important that every member of my family is dedicated to helping with my socialisation and training.

I can be a little shy at first but once I get to know you, I will smother you in love and become your shadow. I love my mini toys, throwing them around and bringing them to you. I hope my future family would love to spend a lot of time playing with me too.

I have been doing really well with my training, but this will need to be continued in my new home. I’m a very clever boy and I pick things up quickly so I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun.
I would need to have access to a garden to help with my toilet training, which I am doing very well at currently. I love being able to run around and play outdoors and once I am nice and tired, prepare for all the cuddles, I love being close to people and curling up on the sofa for lots of kisses and belly rubs!

I’d like someone to be home with me most of the day whilst I’m still young and learning and it’s best I don’t live with cats, as I’d want to chase them, and although I am interested in making doggy friends when I’m out on walks, I would prefer that I am either the only dog in the home, or I am homed with a calm older dog who can help teach me the ways of the world.
