Meet Delilah!

Hello, I’m Delilah, I’m 12 years old and my world has been turned upside down recently which is how I have found myself at NAWT, hoping that someone out there will consider giving me a new home. I came to the centre as a stray so my past is unknown, but it is fair to say I was in a bad way when I first got here. I was absolutely petrified and had shut down emotionally, I was underweight and in terrible pain due to severe dental disease, which has thankfully now been treated. Lucky for me, a staff member took me home to foster me and as soon as I got there, I felt safe enough to let me true personality show.

I am the sweetest little dog you will ever meet and I love people so much. I’m happiest when I am bundled up in a pile of blankets, or sat on someone’s lap for a cuddle. I’ve been spending a lot of time with the staff in the office, so I’ve become very good at supervising team meetings and everyone who has met me has fallen in love with me. Whether I’m helping you to work from home, or we just curl up on the sofa to watch TV, I promise you will never be alone again once I’m with you.

It’s no secret that I’m an older lady, and I do have medical needs that I’ll need your help with. The vet team will be able to give you all the information and support you need. I have a heart condition which I am on medication for, but sadly this is not something that is going to go away. If you adopt me, there is no way for me to predict how long we will have together, but I do know that our time together will be the most precious of my life. I know it’s a lot to take on, but I just hope it won’t stop people from loving me.

I’m very laid back and I’m happy to share my home with other dogs, or cats. I can live with children of any age, although it is important that they will be able to cope with the emotional nature of my rescue, as I wouldn’t want to upset anyone too much. I will need access to a secure garden and my owner must be able to spend the majority of the day with me, so I do not get lonely.

If you have space in your home, and your heart, to truly make a difference to a wonderful dog like me, please get in touch with NAWT today.
