Meet Belle!
Hello, I'm Belle and this is Barry (the Brachiosaur), he's my Emotional Support Dinosaur and he comes everywhere with me to help me feel brave. I'm an avid de-fluffer of all things soft and plush and I take my craft very seriously, but Barry is special. When I get the urge to pluck out some stuffing, I place him safely in the bed before sniffing out another teddy sacrifice. Then I return to Barry and tell him all about it. The humans once tried to trick me with a decoy Barry, but I cannot be fooled and he is now known as Flat Barry because, well, you do tend to get quite flat when your stuffing has been ripped out for being a treacherous imposter!
I've been in rescue for over a year now, I tried to count the days on my paws once but it turns out that it's a really big number! I don't know why it is taking so long for someone to fall in love with me, my foster carer says I'm wonderful and that anyone would be lucky to have me, but everyone just seems to scroll past my profile and move onto the next dog. It's ok though, Barry posed with me for my latest picture and he told me we looked so cute together that this time someone would have to notice us.
I love my foster carer a lot, even though she always calls me "Poppet" or "Belly Button" when my name is actually Belle (why do humans do that?). We've been living together for a long time now and she has helped me to gain a lot of confidence. I can still be quite nervous sometimes, when I remember some unkind things that have happened in my past, but I'm now learning that not all people are scary, some of them are actually very nice and I can't wait to find my forever family, I'm sure they'll be the best people ever.
I'm looking for a nice calm home with a garden for me to bounce around in. I would prefer to be the only pet in the home, and although I'm happy to have children visiting me, I would rather not live with them full time.
If you want to really know what it means to change the life of a dog and give an old girl like me the home I long for, please get in touch today... just make sure there's room for Barry to come too!
