Meet Iko!

Hi, I’m Iko, a 2-year-old boy looking for a new home as my previous owners are no longer able to look after me.

I’m a friendly boy deep down but I do get very worried by things which means that I can run away and hiss when I feel unsafe. I don’t mean to seem rude, I just get a bit overwhelmed when I don’t feel in control of a situation. I think this will get better once I’m settled into my own home and feel safer. I’ve been at the centre for a couple of weeks now and I have started to approach my carers to ask for gentle strokes and fusses.

I’m looking for an owner who will be patient with me and understand my complex feelings. They will need to give me time to settle in at my own pace without expecting too much of me. I would like a quiet home, I’d prefer to live with adults and teenagers rather than young children and I would like to be the only pet in my home so that I do not get too worried or stressed. I would like my new home to have a garden as I enjoy spending time outside when I do feel stressed.
