Meet Chase!

Hey everyone my name is Chase and I am a male 16 month old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross.
I haven't had the greatest start so far and my current owner isn't in a position to keep me due to ill health which is why the staff here at the centre are trying to help me find a new suitable home through the Home Direct Scheme. I will stay in my current home until then and all meets will be done here at the centre.
I am going to need a very special owner, not for the faint hearted, but someone who will be able to cope with my high energy and anxiousness, and someone who is willing to work with me and be very patient. My current owner has started my training and I sit and give my paw, I can do stay for a short period, but I struggle with recall.
I am a boisterous boy who loves playing. I currently get over excited and aroused easily and can get grabby, so will need an adult only home. The staff here have recommended that I am muzzle trained. I also do not like being left alone much and I have previously destroyed things so I am better off using a crate when my owner goes out. The team here do believe that with consistency and positive training I could be a lovely companion for someone as I am very friendly and loving.
I work well for food which will be helpful for my training. I also travel well in the car.
I will chase cats, so its a definite no for them, and best if I am the only dog in the home even though I can meet dogs nicely when out and about.
I know I am asking for a lot but I am really hoping there is a home out there for me as I am such a lovely young boy. Thanks for reading, Chase x
