Centre Administrator - Essex
We need an enthusiastic and self-motivated Centre Administrator to join our friendly team in our Essex Centre based in Clacton and make a difference.
Location: NAWT Essex, The Street, Little Clacton, Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, CO16 9LG
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, working weekends on a rota basis
Salary: £23,809.50 per annum (£12.21 per hour)
Closing Date: 1st April 2025
About the role:
You’ll play a vital role at NAWT’s Essex Centre and will be responsible for providing an efficient, friendly and empathetic customer care service to visitors and callers. This diverse position plays a pivotal part, collating important information from all aspects of a busy rescue centre.
You will be part of a small friendly team who are all committed to improving the lives of pets in the area. Reporting to the Centre Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:
- Being first point of contact for our customers visiting the Centre, informing them of our procedures and being helpful at all times.
- Liaising with all internal and external colleagues to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the centre.
- Facilitating the rehoming and intake process by completing documentation, homing journey appointments, and providing accurate information to all customers during the homing and relinquishment process.
- Updating electronic records with animals and adopters’ details, booking appointments and microchip database management.
- To be responsible for end of day cashing up and keeping accurate financial records relating to income and petty cash.
- To assist with issuing and accurate recording of financial procedures.
- Assisting with online presence by updating websites and social media.
- Accurate and timely processing of on-site retail sales.
- Assisting with fundraising activities, events, school tours and visits when requested.
About you:
The successful candidate will have an organised approach to their work, with excellent attention to detail and good overall IT skills. You will have previous experience of dealing with internal and external customers and will be able to work on your own initiative as well as being able to work cooperatively with a range of colleagues. You will have a positive and proactive approach to work, with excellent customer service skills, and the empathy and resilience to deal with sometimes challenging situations, having the customer and the charity at the heart of everything you do.
